Found another airmail stamp on a letter from my hubby to his mom (1968) when he was in the Navy. She saved everything--all his grade cards from kindagarten on up, every Mother's Day card from boy scouts he made her, everything!

Here are some from dad's collection.
Looks like he is missing some early ones and the Grafs.
Found an 8c that probably should be replaced...

How much dough do you think the 4 early ones I am
missing will run in the same condition as the others?

What would it cost to replace the 8c that is torn?

Thanks
Dave

Edit:
Missing C2 C3 C5 C6
Looks like the C1 and C4 are unused...
So I would like unused to match.
The damaged stamp is unused C26

Great Airmails! I love airmails! I have a friend that collects them, too. I just found this out yesterday at her mom's house. I never even knew she was crazy about them.
She almost acted like she was taking a skeleton out of the closet, so to speak, when we were talking about them! ha People, peole,
stamp collecting is not a dirty word!

They're all a bunch of great Airmail stamps. Wonderful stamps. As soon as I figure out why I can't post pictures directly from my computer to here, I will be putting up my C1/C2 and others.

Hi Dave.......

Replacing the 8cent twin transport will be quite easy....just a buck or two.

The others will really depend on what how much centering means to you.

LA Swabbie: Nice U.S. airs! I collect U.S. airs... I try for a used copy of each stamp, and I collect all positions of each marginal marking, used. I also collect strait-edges and blocks of four, all used. I have a nice collection of U.S. airs with the number portion of a duplex cancel on them. I also collect air postal history of the State of Texas (I lived there for 1.5 years). I have airs with clear Texas postmarks on them, FFC's and Aeroport Dedication covers. I am currently looking for covers with U.S. airs on them, paying the contemporary rate they were meant to pay, in-period, postmarked from Texas.

Sorry.... no Zepps... yet.

David

I haven't added to my U.S. Airmail collection in years. It's another one of the projects I'm saving for after I win the $87 Million Powerball.

You guys and gals have posted a lot of interesting material. Thanks!

Laswabbie, did'nt see much of your collection here though. Love to see more. Some nice airmails posted.

Airmail stamps need not have any aviation theme in them and aviation theme stamps need not be airmail stamps. I collect stamps with aviation theme but have a lot of airmail stamps without anything to do with aviation. Let me know if anyone is interested
