Have a little set of Navy/Army Heroes covers. Does anybody have an idea of their value?

danko,

The two covers with the five stamp sets are First Day covers for the 5c stamp of each set (Army Scott 789 and Navy Scott 794). The 2011 catalog value for FDCs of those stamps postmarked in West Point and Annapolis, respectively was $8.00 for each.

The covers of Army and Navy are done by the cachetmaker Bronesky. To see what the value of these two covers are, I suggest going to www.jamesmccusker.com and dividing by a third to get a realistic evaluation.

Checkout this ebay link. While I think most collectors will agree their price is quite high, if you advance down to the tan section of the listing you'll find a wealth of information about the cachetmaker (Bronesky) and the history of the various stamps that were part of the Army/Navy issue:
