Hi to all

These are all Turkish, some I think could be propoganda stamps, especially the ones with the woman and soldiers and the soldiers in the trenches.
Regards
Horamakhet.

I think the very last stamp is from Syria. The two on the far left in the second row are Locals, you will not find them in Scott. The stamp overprinted T.E.O. I don't think is from Turkey too, but need to check that.

TEO is from Cilicia I think. The first row are the first issues of the new Turkish Republic. The local posts are from Lianos. Here's an interesting link about those.

Nice link Ajnabii.

The stamps from the Liannos local post in Constantinople are listed in Michel.

The TEO overprint is indeed from the 1919-1921 French occupation of Cilicia in Turkey. If you look carefully you can see the black overprint in full is actually "T.E.O. Cilicie". It's interesting that this Turkish stamp had already been overprinted in red and surcharged in blue.

Nigel, in my Turkish collection with my inlaws in Turkey I've got some Lianos that are actually cancelled. I've been told that the ones that are used are worth more.. and you're quite lucky if you can find them on cover. Back when I used to spend all Saturday at my favorite stamp shop on istiklal, I learned that there were maybe 4 dominant private posts in Constantinpole during the Ottoman times.

Here's a wiki link about the gray wolf (portrayed on the stamps in the second scan on the third and fourth rows with latin and old turkish script).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asena

Those sets with the gray wolf, railways and ataturk are amongst my favorites.
