Architect James Hoban, who emigrated from Ireland in 1785 won the architectural competition to design the White House. Ireland and the US in 1981 issued stamps to honor Hoban. The US version of 18 cents was printed prior to the rate change of 20 cents and both stamps were released on October 13, 1981.

I am not certain of the purpose of this topic and wonder if all of the stamps listed in the front of Scott's catalog under the title of "Common Design Types" would qualify? If so, I would be glad to start scanning as I beleive I have most all of the Europa stamps listed.
