Here is a new stamp I just got MH with original gum. One thing perticular about this stamp is how the number "2" on the right side is broken....the tail part not attached. I have an other used copy but the "2" is not broken. Any info or thoughts would be appreciated.

The ripples that seem to show on the picture are not on the stamp

Nice stamp Coriandre
I see what you mean..BUT, also take a look at both "2's"
1 -The left "2" that has a dark border around it does NOT touch the frame.

2 -The right hand "2" circle DOES touch the frame.

Unitrade list a dash in lower right 2 as variety 20V and states its located in several positions. However I believe the dash is more of a white spot actually cutting into the number. I don't have my copies easily accesable or I would compare . NOTE: the dash variety is only priced in used not M or MOG -Used VF from 2007 $600

New unitrade shows an image of the 20v as a red dash in the tail of the "2".

Adding to your observations...

I made a scan of the #20 from the 2012 Unitrade catalogue AND, another scan of my own copy of #20.

First 2 pictures are from the 2012 Unitrade catalogue
The next 2 are from my own used #20 and
we have Coriandre samples

About the bottom left hand side :

cat. copy : hairline touching the frame, also looked with a magn 20x
my copy : The circle does not touch the border
Coriandre': The circle does not touch the border

About the right hand "2" :
Coriandre's copy has a broken 2 which is not the case from the cat. copy and mine

Also, the shape of the bottom of the "2" (the tale) of my copy is different (larger, bigger) compare to Coriandre' and the cat.

thanks BeeSee
do you have the url so we can learn more about it?

I am curious in the way that if there is a major difference like the one we have here (broken 2 or not broken), it should be known and well edited as a variety or else, unless there is a reason for it

Thanks Beesee. I have seen many. I agree with Koala. There must be documentation regarding the variations on this stamp. I see many differences. Still happy about my stamp. If I calculate it correctly, the catalogue value is 1000$. 400$ for fine with 150% more for original gum.
