Hi fifia, I'm enjoying your Europa threads - thank you! There was a single Austrian Europa stamp in 1959 but it has different design: a building in the shape of a big letter "E" sitting on a map of Europe. |

Thanks for the Input. I have removed the posting and will repost under correct year. It seems those little pieces of paper with the notes in my stock book have once again become confused as to where they belong. |

Please do not worry. These are a bunch of nice people who point things out. No harm done. I guess we are the Europe team!
Everybody's input is appreciated.

Please do not leave me....
This is a nice place to be. Even when we have posted all European stamps maybe members realize how nice it is to see the total number of stamps, maybe someone will start this effort to show their collections. Yes, a picture is a thousand words and as I was told a link is a thousand pictures, but a picture is a picture. I have organized my Europe collection with the help of this thread and your support is appreciated......

Someone had asked what "Europa" was all about. I apologize for nort remembering who asked, but I was thinking more about how to answer. I knew the answer, but it so much better to let the stamps do the talking. In this case, I have a 1960 Europa First Day Cover from Sweden with a presentation card of sorts included. I have attached both for your pleasure. Please enjoy. Now, all who read this post will know the meaning of the CEPT abbreviation on the Europa stamps. |

Here is an Europa cover. This one is interesting as it is backstamped ( literally) with local postage from the island of Lundy. Although the envelope is stained and ugly, I like it for the local postage. If you are not familiar with the local postage of Lundy, here is a link to help understand. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lundy.I don't know anything about postage rates, but it seems odd to use a 2p and a 1p stamp on this envelope. |
