i still have scrap postage picked up over the years..but I have very little desire to purchase current U.S. commems like I used to buy to put on letters to collectors...someone sent me a cover of the Marjorie Rawlings stamp ..because I always remark to my wife when we drive past the Cross Creek sign in Northern Florida..the movie The Yearling with Claude Jarman Jr. was one of the first movies I ever saw..i dont know if too many folks on this forum go that far back ! |

Unfortunately, Phil, I do go that far back!
I still buy and use commemoratives, but I'm selective. I use the Breast Cancer, Purple Heart, and such.
I'm looking forward to the Baseball and Alzheimer's issues. I'll buy and use them for sure. |

I ticks me off also, sometimes so bad, that I am almost tempted to use metered stamps. |

Quote: I ticks me off also, sometimes so bad, that I am almost tempted to use metered stamps. Might as well, they can't be soaked off anyway. And who wants to collect mint stamps on backing paper? BTW, I like the way Bob uses metered mail. He encloses a used commemorative clipped from another envelope to make it good. |

I picked up a sheet of these Eames stamps last Friday, and kind of like them. By themselves, maybe not much, but the sheet is very well done and very effective. Great graphic design! |

If the U.S. Postal Service can put Betty Boop, Porky Pig, Andy Warhol, and Chinese New Year on a stamp every year, why not the Eames? |
