I have just spent the last hour or so quickly perusing the new topic titles added since I last looked in. Such an amazing variety and I don't quite know yet how I will catch up.

Many thanks to all for such an interesting return to the forum and for posting such great topics.

I'll post a few pics later and talk about the help I am going to need with a Stamp Collection which travelled with me back to Israel.

I managed to meet one Member whilst away, GeorgeP from Munich and we spent a nice couple of hours in a Bavarian Beer Keller chatting about everything and stamps as time would allow. George, if you are looking, it was nice to meet you and see you again when next in Munich.

I'd like to all the new members who have joined up while I was away. I hope you enjoy your stay and post often.

Finally, for now, I hope you all had a great Christmas and I hope you will all enjoy a Happy and prosperous New Year.

It's good to be back with friends and 'family'.

I'll post a few pics later and talk about the help I am going to need with a Stamp Collection which travelled with me back to Israel.

Below are a few items from the Stamp Collection that travelled back with me from the UK. After a quick look through some of the packets late last night, I see that I will be needing a lot of help from you guys over the coming months and will start new threads for each of the enquiries with specific headings.
I especially need help with Revenues,Perfins and worldwide BoB material but the fun has only just begun.

The following items I don't need help with, but am showing them here because they are very nice items, all lovely MNH and are a taster of what may be lurking in the rest of THE COLLECTION !

Enjoy...or not, whatever the case may be.

GREAT BRITAIN. KGV & KGVI

The following items are often neglected in Commonwealth collections.
Items from the British Forces in Egypt.

The last item above brings back memories. I was after a decent reasonably-priced copy of this stamp for nearly 15 years in Mint hinged condition. I could never afford MNH. I searched high and low but never found one or missed out at auction. The price was out of touch for me for a single stamp. I just wasn't that brave.
Then I gave up on Egypt and sold my collection.
Now I have this beautiful MNH copy sitting in front of me and I want to weep !

Oh the irony.........

Hello and welcome back from your holiday LB. Very nice GB stamps. I have always liked the 1924 and 1925 British Empire Exhibition stamps. They hark back to an era where every thing was not commemorated on a stamp. The US is even issuing a set of 5 stamps featuring Hawaiian aloha shirts. Imagine that.

I received the souvenir sheet and was most appreciative. Thanks

Beautiful haul! Now the question is: are you willing to release the names of your incredible sources in the UK or are you just gonna be greedy and keep them all to yourself?

These are all for sale ! I came back with a collection to sell having valued it last June. These are a small part of it.
It will take some weeks to sort but I will start putting bits up this weekend.

Some nice stuff in there and loads I know nothing about. You'll be seeing more soon.

Welcome back. I've been gone a few days, and missed your return.

Nice Jubilee seal. I'm missing that one from my British Forces in Eqypt...
