February 20, 2012 marks the 50th anniversary of the First American (John Glenn) to orbit the Earth.

That was a proud moment in U.S. history. Sadly, 50 years later, the only way we can get a man or woman into space is to pay the Russians over $60 million per seat for a ride on a Soyuz.
