I attended yesterday's first day of issue ceremony of Cherry Blossom Centennial stamps. I brought the USPS issued pictured postcard from the 1980's (depicting same motif of Jefferson Memorial and Washington Monument with Cherry Blossoms) with me, affixed them with newly issued stamps, and obtained the first day cancellation. I was one of very few collectors who went to the ceremony with self-prepared maxicards, and I just wanted to share the result and the fun here.
