I wish I would have found this site months ago!! I inherited my Great Grandfather's Stamp collection. I know very little about stamps and have spent hours trying to identify these stamps. I have spent hours going through Scott Catalogues, but it is still confusing to me. I have what I do know is a German Overprint 800 Tausend. I have visited other sites (not forums though) and see some of these 800 Tausend overprints sell for a few thousand dollars and some for just a few dollars. I am looking to identify these better by scott number and to see what the potential value is of the stamps I have. Thanks!!

Cholley, jimjamtwo has directed you to a very good German site but if you want to translate each page, I suggest you add a Google Tool Bar to your Browser and use its "Translate" feature.
