I understand the logistics of stamp shows - especially the big ones - but I wish they would hold one or two in the South somewhere so I could attend! It would cost me a fortune to travel to Pittsburgh. |

Well for me it is about time they have something neat in my back yard. Sorry Greg it will only take about a half of tank of gas for the round trip. |

August 11-14, 2011 Columbus, Ohio
LaSwabbie - perhaps you could spearhead an effort to have the APS Stampshow in New Orleans in August 2012? |

Darn Pittsburgh is about one circle beyond where I would travel for the average APS show..about 450 miles through the mountains of Pennsylvania..but then my wife was talking about Dayton Ohio where her Europa group is going to meet...thats much worse ! |

Yeah but you could always stop for a free steak dinner when your going through the mountains. I probably know where you get get one. They tell me the farm grown fresh potatoes are actually better than any steak. |

Anyone going to this? I'm thinking about it. Might be hard to fit in, though since I will be helping my son and his wife move to Buffalo in August. |

I am going to travel from Germany to the US at the beginning of August...
So I might come and have a look at this show... I guess it can be really interesting...

Rick you will not regret it..it will be an experience..,hint..if you are interested in first day ceremonies..they are early..at the very beginnning of the show...and if someone in your group enjoys taking pictures I would bring a camera along !! |

OK Rick just one more tip from someone who has attended about 10 APS shows..you will see familiar faces from the American Philatelist around...feel free to approach them and talk to them...they are there to serve us the membership.... |
