Very cool historical item! Looks like they are in nice condition. The instructions are very interesting! I especially like: Be guided by the rule: "If you don't need it, DON'T BUY IT"

This thread is titled "Cinderella Forum"
What does 'Cinderella' have to do with WWII.
Growing up "Cinderella" was Disney. Sorry I don't get it.

Philatelic jargon - In the story of Cinderella, the servant girl Cinderella was masquerading as something she was not.
In the stamp world, a Cinderella is something that masquerades as a postage stamp but really is not. Cinderella: A stamp-like label that is not a postage stamp. Cinderellas include Christmas seals, Easter seals, fantasy issues, local post issues, and other similar items.

 Thanks t360 for the clarification.
PS: so then the Betty Boop I'd like as my avatar is considered a "Cinderella"?

Yes, but I don't know if it has been printed as actual stamp-like labels. It is a least a virtual Cinderella. There is no 10c USA postage stamp honoring Ms. Boop.

I remember my Dad showing me several ration books, but I don't have any idea where they are now. Some of the stories he and my Grandmother told me about the rationing made me understand just how lucky Americans are now. We have everything we need in abundance and never even think about it!
