I'm somewhat of a 'new-be' so excuse me; but is there a way to find USA SCV's on the Internet?

Would appreciate any assistance.

Hello hana......

.....and welcome to the club.

There really isn't an on line Scott Cat. and because of all the possible varieties of some issues it would be way too easy to make an error. If you're looking for something specific, I have the 09 specialized and so do several other members here. One of us could probably help.

No & Yes,

No I mean that Scott does not publish itself on the net.
However, if you have questions about certain stamps you may post them here and one of us will get that information for you.

Good Collecting!
Mike

Hanah If you have any specific questions please ask, It sometimes is helpful to see a picture of the stamp that you are looking for a value for.

THANK YOU!

My interest in SCV is that when submitting stamps to PSE for grading they want you to enter current SCV in order to determine what their fee is - and so you can make correct payment.

I don't have many that I submit. The previous ones were already graded which I wanted encapsulated and which is done at a flat fee. The PF's are considered 'raw'.

I have an '83 Scott which is good for me since I'm not really interested in anything after the 20's. Don't really want to buy a new one.

Thank you for the offers of help.

hana

Hana, You say your Scott is 1983. Have you considered that in the ensuing 26 years, new information may have come to light, or new listings may be present for even the earlier stamps? Perhaps you could go to a library and examine a new Scott and determine if an in investment in a new set of catalogs might be in order. I had a 1988 Scott US specialized and was amazed when I got a 2007 to see the changes. Color being one. New types of listings another.

Just a thought. And, Welcome to the forum!

Ron

Welcome hana,

If you would like to see what graded(or non-graded) stamps are currently selling for, go to: www.theswedishtiger.com.
The site does not give Scott values but shows prices realized on both www.ebay.com/b/260/" rel="nofollow">ebay and NY auction houses. However, I believe only MH and MNH are reported from NY auctions. www.ebay.com/b/260/" rel="nofollow">ebay prices realized show used and mint. There is currently no used graded #292 realized prices, only MH and MNH.

Correction: theswedishtiger.com does show prices realized for used graded stamps at NY auction houses. But apparently no Scott #292 have been sold there for a number of years.

Sorry, new to this. I guess I could be more specific. The closest I have come is #540 but there are so many variations of #540. I am new to collecting. I acquired someone elses stamp collection after he passed away. Most are from 1930-now but this one interested me. I cannot find one like it! If someone can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it! Thanks!

I tried to look this up for you but there are so many varieties of this stamp. I have an entire envelope full that I have to catalogue and I've avoided it until I have the time to sit and really concentrate.

Someone more experirenced wiil be around soon to help.
