Sometimes I have an image that I can't quite get under the 100K limit (like the blue whale screen cap I just posted).

Can someone remind me how to link to an offsite image. I can do it with a link only, but how do I get the scaled-down image to appear in my post.

Also, I used Flickr -- is there a better/preferred image host?

KirkS

P.S. Yes, I read the FAQ, but it still didn't work for me and Flickr.

KirkS, you just add the image tag to your URL like this:

You can do it manually or click on the yellow button in the "Format" toobar AFTER highlighting your URL.

No spaces between the [ ] brackets and IMG, I only put them so the show up as code, otherwise they show as a broken link to an image.

That's what I thought, but it doesn't work for me...

But you got me on the right track and I think I figured it out. When I use the sharing link provided by Flickr, it points to a location at Flickr, but not to the actual JPG file. So, I had to grab what Flickr calls the BBCODE to get the actual JPG file...

I still had to edit the BBCode, but at least I got it.
Thanks,
Kirk

The CBS evening news has a recurring feature called "Everyone has a story" How true. Kirk, the sites were fascinating. I will wager that the number of stories here on SCF could fill a book.

Obviously, I didn't create the human pacman thing, but I saw it online and had to "grab" it for my webpage. My students loved it.
