Just came across this postcard of the Pyramids. Obviously, it was sent from Egypt and although it is a modern day issue, it is still a fascinating subject depicted on a postcard.

A beautiful card indeed, I like it a lot,
but missing the interesting part, the back!

The Sphinx has been undergoing a stabilization to control the base erosion. Dr. Zahi Hawass has really taken control of the preservation of these wonderful works of art.

Worth mentioning, the nose (and face) of the Sphinx was
vandalised by a fanatical Muslim leader, not blown off
by Napoleon.

This Sphinx card came to me in a box lot.

The main interest I have is that its addressed to a well known NZ authoress Miriam McGregor Redwood (from her daughter). Dated 1991 - Giza to New Zealand

I wonder just how many of those cards have been printed and sold through the years for tourists!

I wonder what the recipe was to make the cement stones
of the pyramids!

Cheers James,
Davidovits is the book I read,
I thought his reasonings were excellent,
and I am a believer of the cast stones.

That picture of the author in front of the stones/blocks
fills me with a unbelievable desire to relive those times,
it was just so extraordinary what those people achieved.
I hope there is an afterlife where we can see :)

Deserts are amazing ecosystems. The whole landscape changes over 100 years.
