Need Title Ideas For Route 66 Philatelic Display

There must have been a few on route 66!

I know I'm reviving an old thread, but I just wanted to mention that I now live about 5 miles from the Route 66 route in the San Gabriel Valley (east of Los Angeles), near the city of Glendora, CA. Glendora decided to really try to revive the Route 66 lore, and changed the name back to Route 66 from Alosta Ave. They even have a little website. Here's the page with a few pics:

More of the merchants celebrate Route 66 than just those on that website, and you see references to it by a number of stores on that street in that area. A number of them (even including the Albertson's grocery store) have little souvenir areas. Please let me know if there is anything contemporary that would be a suitable ancillary item for your collection. Feel free to contact me directly if you'd like.

No problem, I miss the dude...i could find Lincoln material for him...but never found any route 66 items here in the NorthEast !!

Not totally surprising, as Route 66 only ran from Chicago to L.A.

Traveling east, Route 66 ends at Michigan Avenue & Jackson Boulevard, at the south corner of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Philb I am still around, but not very often. Usually only if one of my bookmarked posts gets a hit. My stamps have taken a back seat to family obligations. I still pick up stuff from time to time for my topical collections. I most recently got back a couple of pictorial postmarks celebrating the grand opening of Carsland aka Radiator Springs in Disney Land. Plus I have gotten the shutter bug recently by reviving Instant photographing via a couple Polaroid camera's I have.

I am always on the look out for postcards, business cards, roadside attraction items and iconic places found along the Mother Road. I especially like to get postmarks from the towns on 66 using an appropiate postcard or cacheted envelope.

I immediately thought of Stamperdude when I saw this topic. Glad you are still about.
