Unfortunately, the rvenues here are in pale yellow,
which do not scan well, anyhows....

Ok this one isn't on paper either, but I think it's intereting. The stamp seems unused, gum perfectly intact, but the work PAID is embossed into it on the left (I think you can just make it out in the scan) with another word indecipherable across George's face.

Well this is timely! These just came in last week. I do not collect on document items, but I have never seen old checks in better condition. Makes me wonder where they have been for a century and a half! If I wasn't well-versed in printing methods, I would swear that these are faked. The checks are letterpress, so I can't imagine someone would go through the trouble...

They are beautiful so I think I'll keep 'em!
