I know some people collect the number 13 on stamps but I am not sure that many people would consider that lucky.

Others collect only 1 cent stamps with nice cancels (Socked On The Nose types).

What about the Number 7 in Western culture or the Number 8 in Eastern culture?

I just received a cover from Hong Kong (China) in the mail with this postmark / cancel on the front and back (stamps on front and back also):

In numerology, the divination of your (or something's) destiny by numbers, you add up all the numbers in a name (or cancel?) to get the resulting 'important' number. This is achieved by adding together multiple digit numbers to get a single number. So 11 would be 1 plus 1 = 2.

This cancel, 11 4 11 is 11 April 2011.
11 = 1 + 1 = 2
So 2 + 4 + 2 = 8 (lucky or auspicious number in Eastern numerology)
Or 11 + 4 + 11 = 26 = 2 + 6 = 8 (lucky number again)

On the cover there are 8 large stamps with 4 cancels from the 4th month. What's the number '2 TCL' on the bottom of the cancel? Four number 2s are 8, either multiplied or added.
I live in apartment 206 = 2 + 0 + 6 = 8.

Do all these numbers and stuff make this a lucky cover, or cancel to someone? Am I always trying to be number 8 but things aren't really adding up for me? Do any medical problems happen because I have a horseshoe somewhere sideways and it's just not quite right?

Anything else similar out there anyone?

Head slap! My wedding date is 9-9-99, whIch I liked cuz I'm kinda funny that way (it was a Thursday, quoth my wife-to-be in 1997, "I'll never get married on a Thursday." Last argument I ever won). I read that it was a popular day to get married in China. The date predates my interest in stamps considerably, or I would have had custom covers made and sent to all the guests!

Ah, life has it's twists and turns doesn't it?

I just realized that my cover above has seven ships stamps (on the seven seas, ha).
