Tomorrow, 18 May marks the 31st anniversary of the eruption of Mt St Helens ... a mere 50 miles North of my home in Portland, Oregon. Being reminded of this event in my local newspaper, I thought it would be an interesting subject.

Pictured are two photos:

1) Mt St Helens overlooking the city of Portland prior to erupting and
2) Mt St Helens as viewed from Portland during the eruption on 18 May, 1980.

Enjoy

Brian
