Are you a member of a stamp club that meets in person? If YES, what do you like about it? How often do they meet? How many members do you have?
If NO, why not?
I have been a member of the Springfield Philatelic Society for around 3 years. We meet once a month and have about 35 members. We have silent auctions a couple times a year, hold an annual stamp bourse in the fall which we sell color cachet covers with a pictorial postmark, have slide presentations lent from the APS of various topics, we have blue books available to purchase members stamps from and have a Nickel box of donated stamps.

Not a member of one yet. I would have to find one in the area--if there are any. We live about 45 min from any larger towns.

No club within 70 miles. Only two other collectors that I know of within about 45 miles, except for my wife. Luckily, we meet every day and have at least one discussion about stamps. Sure is great having a collecting partner. |

I am a member of the Chelmsford, MA stamp club. It is an excellent club. However I have a hard time making it to the meetings on Monday nights after working all day and driving the long brutal commute to Cambridge and back. By then I am dead tired . |

i have belonged to ther stamptrotters of Kingston since 1973...the reason we call it the stamptrotters.is that we get kicked out of decent places for reasons like...someone else needs the room or the school requires a million dollar umbrella policy which we could not afford...we even met in the glass room of a taco bell..the last few years we are well situated in the Red Hook VFW barely a mile from my house..its the best deal I have had..we can afford to give them 50 bucks a quarter year and some of the guys buy a beverage from the bar...so far so good...until you find a home..use this forum as your stamp club...phil |

I would definitely consider this a good club. You guys and gals do a great job interacting, sharing, fun contests, and willing to help out the new collector. Isn't the internet a wonderful thing when used for good? |

It is an hour drive for me to attend stamp show meetings, so I haven't gone yet, although I have been thinking about it. Ironically, there is a big club, around 50 members or so, about ten minutes from where I USED to live. At that point though, I hadn't gotten back into stamps.

Not a member but would love to be if there was one close enough but closest one about 60 miles and with gas prices it might as well be on the other side of the world. |

I am still looking into the possibility of starting a club for the kids. But I know I will have to have the expertise of Triggersmob to make it happen. No pressure though Steve One of the first things they will have to do is sign in here to the forum so they and their parents can learn what its all about. |

No club here the closest is maybe an hour way, I have thought about try to begin one where I live. We have a paper printed Thursday just for our community I think I'll see if I can run an ad or article to see if there is enough local interest. It would be great if there was ! |
