I picked up an envelope of perfins at the stamp show yesterday. I now have two envelopes with 15 perfins in each for the first two perfin collectors who can show three illustrations on this thread and who will email me their address.

Get Ready.

Get Set.

Go!

It's an interesting subject-perfins. Organizations--starting in Great Britain used perforated stamps to prevent pilfrage because at one time you could exchange stamps for cash at the British post offices. The perforated stamps prevented that from happening. All kinds of organizations used perfed stamps--I like the Montgomery Ward and SRC= Sears, Roebuck, and Co. The franked postage has killed the perfins but they are highly collectible by those who do specialized collecting.

Dianne, I'm not that smart--I just really like the perfins and precancels.

Gussy, I just sorted out some world stamps for you. I came across a few perfins in the Great Britain lot. They are in the post for you today. I'll let you post pics when you receive them.
