An unusual mail day...

I received 5 letters franked with actual stamps in the morning mail.

2009 Liberty Bell x 3
2010 Evergreen - Eastern Red Cedar
2011 Love

One Liberty Bell was uncancelled, the other four had spray on cancellations.

Now, I realize 5 stamps doesn't seem like a big deal, so to put it in context, the pic below shows my total accumulation of "work" stamps from the past year or more!

Sad, isn't it?

I only seem to get mail with stamps from SCF members, ebay sellers and my stamp club. I think I'm seeing a pattern here.

I only ship my sales with commemorative issues that are surplus to my collection/sales. The Postal worker told me she loves seeing all the older stamps on my shipments. Must be a form of postal entertainment?

Like everyone else in this thread, I too get commemoratives only from SCF members, ebay and other online sellers and from snail mail auction houses. Apart from these sources, most, if not all, tend to use either the definitives or meters.

At least with definitives, you can have a cheap source of stamps to check for varieties

Hi PoStat & All

That is just how I got some of my Canadian "Cameo" and "Centenial" postal cards and stationery. I never got caught either. I am not exaggerating when I say that some of them are worth a few bucks now too. Wish I could do that nowadays The waste paper basket doesn't have anything worthwhile in it any more lol
