I'd like to see what small size stamps others have in their collection. Here is one of mine.

Notopfer Berlin Actual size After the end of the Berlin blockade and the airlift (26 June 1948-may 11, 1949), the Economic Council of United economic area adopted it on 8 November 1948 "law to a levy Notopfer Berlin in the United economic area". Then a Steuermarke, the so-called "Notopfer", had to be glued to the most domestic mail (except from and to West Berlin, and also not in the GDR) in addition to the normal postage (at that time 20 pfennigs for a standard letter). These two pfennigs should benefit the West Berlin by the Berlin blockade in economic distress distressed population. This Act had been in force until 31 March 1956. |

Experienced stamps need a home too. I'd rather have an example that is imperfect than no example. I collect for enjoyment, not investment. APS Member #223433 Postmark Collectors Club Member #6333 Meter Stamp Society Member #1409 |

I am trying to improve my postings. Puzzler is setting Nethrick as a standard (I never will be as excellent as he is) so I tried to give some information. I stopped when I saw this: Summary Notopfer Berlin 2 Pfennige Steuermarke, 05.08.1949, herausgerissen, ausgerissen, gerissen, nicht geschnitten, ohne Zähnung. Briefmarke, Stamp, Brief, Letter, Post, PostwertzeichenNow I have a few of these variants of this little notopfer stamp. Here is a translation of the summary ripped out of something, ripped out, torn, not cut, no perfs, stamp, and as printed on as postage! Just checked on line. 'They' want 20.-- euros for these stamps. Maybe I should pay attention to what I have. |

Here is an image of a tiny postal tax stamp (approximately the same size as fifia's "blue flea") depicting an allegorical figure wearing a Phrygian cap (symbolic of liberty), bearing a shield displaying the national coat of arms of Nicaragua, and holding up a banner to promote social welfare benefits, engraved and printed by Waterlow & Sons, Ltd., and issued by Nicaragua in 1956, Scott No. RA62, SG No. 1247a. - nethryk |

Hi, here's one of the smallest stamps in the world, Mecklenburg-Schwerin (Old German State) no. 1, issued on July 1, 1856. The stamp was printed in sheets of 480 and the post agent could cut out the amount of stamps needed for the particular letter. Size is about 12x12 mm. Klaus |

Some more smallies, including the Mecklenburg and Bolivar. The Nicaragua is from 1959, the South Africa from 1948, the yellow one is unidentified. The Dutch definitive is merely for size comparison. Ruler scale is in cm. Klaus |

Hello KlausR the yellow flea is from the French zone of Germany. In the Michel catalogue you can find it under Zwangszuschlagsmarken, there it is # 3. Have a nice Sunday! Regards from Munich |
