Very common Stamp. Issued in 1882 the catalog value for a used stamp is .70¢ and in the condition it is in, pretty much ruined. The diagonal crease and damaged right side and missing perforations are all negative strikes against it....sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Evening 241079,
See stallzer beat me to it!
It is from the 1882-1900 "postage & revenue" set. There are various perfs, watermarks, dies and adverts used on this issue. If you can measure the perfs that is a start to identifying, but only a very few are of any decent value.

When googling or eBaying (click worldwide) British Commonwealth stamps Qyeen Victoria is sometimes abbreviated as QV and the denomination (one penny, 1 penny) is written as 1d where d = denarius = Roman silver penny = and thus terminology from a Roman province in the British Isles originally.

Also know as one penny and plural would be 2 pence, 3 pence 2-1/2 pence, etc, written abbreviated as 2d, 3d, 2-1/2d, etc.

Quite satisfyingly confusing I think.

Also try www.delcampe.net , eBay's competitor in belgium, as a search tool
