Going through my horde of stamps, I found this interesting cover. I am not a cover collector at all, but I thought it was pretty neat.

Cancelled in New York on May 8th, then in London on May 13th, then again in the US on May 14th. It states that May 13th was the first day of issue for the GB Coronation stamp

This is a Dick Merrill cover. Look him up in Wikipedia for a lengthy reprise of his aviation career - it's a fascinating story.

They made a very large number of these - about 15,000 - to raise money and they are not hard to find, though the ones Merrill and Lambie signed go for a nice price these days. I think they are really good looking flight covers. Unsigned ones tend to sell on Ebay for between $2 and $20 (I have no idea why some people would pay the higher amount and perhaps those are just dealers buying their own items to try to create the image of higher values) but ones signed by the pilots Merrill and Lambie seem to go in the $40 to $60 range.
