Hi to all the members in this forum once again and I need help from the experts to identify this error stamp on this first day cover.Obviously, the face looks more blur and orange than normal on the left stamp which is very unusual instead of the very clear face and not so orange on the right stamp which is normal showing on the first scan below.Beside that, the neck and hands are more orange than normal on the left stamp compare with the right stamp. There is also an extra rose shade at the bottom perforation on the left stamp which is also unusual than normal compare with the right stamp is without the rose shade which is normal.

I believe this is an error stamp and also a new discovery.Honestly,I have never seen anything like this before as a collector for so many years.Unfortunely,I cannot confirm this is an error stamp because I am not an expert over here. That is why I need help from the expert to identify and confirm if this is an error stamp or not right now.I also need your personal opinion and explanation on this stamp.I have a few questions below here and hopefully you can answer my questions.

May I know if this is an error stamp?

What happened to this stamp during the processing?

Is it interesting to you?

A new discovery?

Rare or common thing happened on the chinese stamp?

Please answer all of my questions above and your help is definely much apprieiciated by me.I will get back to you as soon as possible after your reply to me over here and hope to hear from you very soon. Please refer to the scans below and see carefully.Thank you and have a nice day.

Hi,

Does anyone knows why did the blur face print on the left stamp instead of the clear face normally printed on the right stamp showing on the first scan above? This is my main question right now and hopefully someone really can answer me.I have more than 10 similar stamps and covers but none of them is with the blur face like this one printed on the stamp and it makes me feel so curious about the blur face printed on this stamp. All I need to know is why the blur face printed on this stamp and it is alright if you have no idea about the shade varieties.

I really hope someone can help me on this matter and your help is apprieiciate very much by me.Thank you.

probably a misregistration during the inking process unless I'm missing something? I really am no authority on the world wide stuff. Wish I could be more helpful.

I Love Stamps,

Yes and I have to fully agree with you of what you said is correct there because I was told by someone else which is an expert in chinese stamps that this is probably caused by misregistration, misalinged or changed in some way from the dots of the offset printing. You are really helpful to me and sound like you know something about the printing.I apprieiciate your comment and help very much.Thank you.

Hi, The lettering and date down at the bottom left have different distances to the borders. The white highlights in the right stamp look more realstic to the sheen from skin in the sun, top left forehead and right cheek. These 2 stamps seem to be different in everyway. The right side stamp has clear detail all over and the left doesn't. Maybe when they were starting the litho press and dialing in they may have just let a few blurs go by. Thanks for sharing.. Keith

Hi gkc,

Yes,I have to fully agree with you that the left stamp is very much difference than the right stamp in everywhere especially the faces beside the shade varieties and maybe what you thought is correct about the blur face on the left stamp showing above.I just could not stop looking at the left stamp because I think it is difference than the other similar stamps on this cover which I am having right now.It is nice to hear from you and hope to hear more from you once again.Thank you.

From what I can see, the first brown color (background) is darker than the second one, thus affecting the other colors (note the word CHINA on the stamp is darker on the first MS). I believe the gold color was printed after all other colors were printed.

As mentioned in one of your previous threads, color variation is extremely come common with lithographed stamps that are printed in such huge quantities. I have many Canadian stamps which have much more extreme color differences.

They are fun to collect for specialists, but do not really make any difference in the value of the stamps.

Hi HKStamps,

Yes,the brown colour is very much darker and the gold colour is also brighter on the left stamp more than the right stamp showing above but my main point is why the blur face appeared on the left stamp instead of clear face normally printed on the right stamp.I would like to hear more from you or give me your personal opinion.Thank you.

Hi Beesee,

Yes,maybe you are right about the shade varieties are common on other stamps and let put this shade varieties on one side because my main question is the blur face appeared on the left stamp now as many times as I can see and this is what I still do not understand right now.I really apprieiciate your comment very much.Thank you.
