Hey, I have a few Russian stamps that I am having trouble giving a name to. I have exhausted all the tools I have, and all I know now is they're Czarist, Fiscals. I was able to find one of them; however the rest are ghosts. Here is the first row.

Looks your stamps were issued in late 1870s-1890s, except the two on the right (1905-1917). All have lots of varieties. Nothing else that I can tell you.

These are not postage stamps. The literal translation on the top is "crest stamp", as in family crest or national coat of arms. To write the top in Latin letter it says "Herbovaya Marka." Russian Postage stamps say "Pochtovaya Marka," but in Cyrillic, which directly translates to "Postage Stamp."

I'm not an expert in Russian or Russian stamps, so this is the best I can offer. Perhaps they are some kind of revenue stamps?

Yep. looks like revenue stamps. Check out this page I just found.

The two on the right appear to be tax duty stamps.

Thanks everyone,

This really helps me focus my research. These are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to my Russian stamps. Hopefully I can figure the rest out on my own. I have always bought every stamp set/cover/album I came across and am just now 10+ years later attempting to organize them. Currently working on my China/Italy collections; and china is vast. I always appreciated the art and historical timeline keeping they provide, but had no idea how complicated and individual every stamp could be. The fun is in the detective work, but the time needed is hard this summer. Thank you again for your guidance; it really helped me. If you're interested in seeing more or anything concerning postal.....(not the manic type)....LOL. I would be joyed to share what I've saved from ruin.
