I have a few albums that I seldom if ever visit anymore...me being me I do not wish to part with them...one is a "Debs Worldwide postage stamp album 1992". Being I am the name representing our stamp club on rare occasions I get a perk..like the Debs album which was sent to me unasked for....its not really a worldwide album..Mr. Debs probably considered himself a patriot and did not include countries unfriendly to the United States..Theres no Iran but he did include Myanmar ! So anyway, I tried to do justice to Mr. Debs for his free gift..i tried to fill all the 1992 spaces I could...i did get some strange looks from dealers at stamp shows when they asked "what do you collect?" and I replied 1992 !! Some of you can imagine trying to collect the issues of one year out of all the stamps swirling around out there...i admit its tough !! So the gist of the story is I know people who will sell off the collections that no longer interest at the drop of a hat..i can not..the stamps are like my second children...i am not going to discard them !

Philby, I have heard of people trying to collect all the stamps worldwide of the year they were born or the year of the birth of a child. |

Yes, I know a man in Australia who collects 1952. I sent him some of the 1952 U.S. "red" documentary revenues, which were newly overprinted most years between 1940 and 1954, I think. |

I am afraid I am just like you Phil I am trying to collect world wide and though there are some countries for which I have very few stamps I will still eventually print pages for them. So far the only thing I have been able to part with with are spares. Dianne |

I am truly amazed at what I have done when the pressure got turned on. Our amazing common ground is we all love stamps no matter what we do with them. Always Happy Stamping. John |

Hi all, I'm part of the group that parks his car outside the garage, browses online auctions, collects all stamps, coins, currency, postcards, sportscards, silver, gold, tools and junk. I think I have issues. I'm a hoarder. But in denial, because I still have room to put more stuff. Can't wait for "50 quality posts" so I can unload some of this stuff. Especially if I can get some to the younger folks who have the stamp bug... Keith |
