In the 1920s, robbery of the U.S. Mail got so bad that Marines were dispatched throughout the country to guard mail trains, post offices, etc. Conditions have obviously improved since then.

Ha Ha just read that.
I live about 40 miles from winnipeg killer crows around here. A few years ago I was walking to work around 5.30 in the morning and for a few weeks the crows would flyoverhead and swoop down it was a little scary I got my lunch bag by the strap and ready to swing at them, ThenI took the car till nesting wasover quite a common thing here people etting attack by crows

It seems the US Postal Service stands more of a risk by just driving their trucks around town. Here are some examples of recent mail truck fires ... maybe they just wanted to BBQ their lunch (...or their mail)!
