This is a revenue usage of the stamp, rather than postal. I have a few sitting around.

Commerical revenue stamp authorized for overprint by the UK.
However, many have been used for postage!

Very interesting link. They had a lot of different varietys for that company. More pictures would've been nice on the website, though.

These were ordinary postage and revenue stamps that many UK companies and public organisations overprinted for their own as revenue stamps only.

Once overprinted they weren't valid for postal use except for a period of a few months after the UK government abolished the 2d stamp duty on invoices etc. to allow holders to use up their existing stamps.
