Yes... REAL pets and REAL stamps! I got this idea after reading a topic about Turtles.

Dogs with dog stamps, cats, fish, terrapins etc. Pet and stamps combined!

They always say to not get in the picture with a live animal because they will steal the dhow show that is, not the boat!).

I keep looking at the turtle and ignoring the stamps. It works!

Timmy is thinking "Take me away from all this philately. I'm a tortoise for goodness sake. Let me go somewhere where I can live on leaves, roots and berries. And visions! And maybe drink whisky as I listen to "skiffle" music."

Dare I ask what skiffle music is? Music to crawl by?

This would be a great way to get kids interested in stamps. Instead of using a live animal, you could use a stuffed animal and make a mini-album for them using stamps that "feature" them. For example, a stuffed cat would have a mini-album of cat stamps.

It would make a neat display at a stamp show or a good thing to give to a niece, nephew, or grandchild that has a special stuffed animal that they sleep with.

This is Jimmy and today he opened his eyes. My wife took him home after the wild mouses nest was destroyed on a farm where she looks after horses. Lots of two hourly feeds by me over the past days and nights. Hopefully now he will survive and we shall keep him over the winter...or longer

Jimmy is very cute, to be sure. But I dare say, with winter coming, I've had to put out poison in my house to get rid of all the cute little critters running around in my walls.
At night they steal the dogs crunchies and stash them all over... we've found hoards in shoes, guitar cases and our potato/onion bin.
The wife (mine, not yours) would not be amused by this pic, I'm afraid.

You have the problem and the solution in the phrase "they steal the dogs crunchies". No food...no mice. Cover or isolate any loose food for a couple of weeks and they move on.

My wife continually brings home the lame, the injured, the stragglers of the animal world for me to deal with. I can be realistic about animals and have done the necessary deed to end the suffering but this wee mouse had nothing going for it... no bigger than my thumb-nail,orphaned, cold and hungry yet he held on for about five hours until I got him. Deserved a chance for sheer persistance
