Here is an interesting cover from the 34th Infantry Division or "Red Bull" Division. It is dated July 14, 1945. The return address states A.P.O. 34 c/o PM new York. The APO cancellation is different though. There are no markings on the back. Does anyone have any info on this division? The US military mail is not my area of expertise I'm afraid.

This was of course after the War in Europe had ended, and nearly everybody was heading HOME. The 34th had over 20 locations between 1942 and 1945, from Ireland to North Africa to a dozen major cities in Italy.

On July 14, 1945, APO 34 was located at Verona, Italy. By September 29, 1945, it had relocated to Naples, where it ceased operations on November 1. It was reactivated in Germany in 1951.

Thanks for that doug2222

I was lucky to find this in a dealer's cheapie box. I know it is worth more than what I paid for it.
