The wife and I returned from a seminar on eBay put on by the USPS in a nearby town...not our podunk little p.o. The fellow who spoke was a postal employee who also runs his own business on eBay..so he was very knowlegable about the subject..i did not realize that the post office was in a sort of partnership with eBay..thats how big the eBay seller shipping business is..the post office provides free boxes, labels even pickup for packages...it made me look at both sides of the coin..buyer and seller..it is true you pay a fee for all the background work that eBay does to sell your product...but thats basicly your only expense..the buyer pays the packing shipping fee that you request in your ad..and pretty much forget about paying any taxes on your sales unless you tell the government you are in business....

the post office supplies these packing materials free whether you are using ebay or not. they are free for all customers, you just have to order them on the usps web site and they are delivered to your door.
