Bought this as just an interesting multi stamp cover anything with a special stamp catches my eye i only just noticed that the precancels on the 2c postage dues are inverted, there was no mention by the seller
No need of a mention as that was pretty common in that day. I just really like that cover though! Nice except for the crease but very busy looking and colorful and just a lot going on with it. heck it was even damaged and re-sealed by the post office along it's seemingly arduous journey from L.A. to Michigan! Thanks for showing it!
Hold everything! The resealing adds substantial value. I can't tell which seal it is, from among #OX-21 through #OX-27 (see Scott Specialized), but the catalog values "on cover" range from $10 to $85, with some perf varieties unpriced.
And forget about the crease. When it's rubber-stamped "received in bad condition," anything goes, and just adds authenticity.
Suggest you measure the perfs on the seal, very precisely, and report back. Your choices are: 12x9; 12x8.5; 12.5; 8.5; 12x9.5; and 11.5 -- that takes us (for this design) through the end of the 1930s.
the cover was sent to me two days ago so will arrive next week sometime,i will measure and report back when I recieve it,image is the image from his site
This is a very nice cover. Having the OX and the handstamp certainly make it better, although it would be better still if all the stamps and the OX were sound.
