Absolutely worth keeping. Transcontinental & Western Air later became Trans World Airlines (TWA).

Yes, I agree with stallzer - keep it. The best part is it still has the letter with the envelope. Can you scan the letter also?

There seems to be something wrong with your photos? They just show up as red "X"s on my computer...

This is a FAM 37 first flight. This route provided service to Winslow,AZ; Boulder City, NV; Las Vegas, NV; Los Angeles, CA; Fresno, CA; Oakland, CA and San Francisco.

That's an AM-37 (not FAM, as FAM = Foreign Air Mail). More information at this link:

I believe your example would be 37W5. Of course the value noted would be diminished given the damaged cover, but it's still certainly worth keeping, as a fine example of postal aviation history.
