I was surfing the internet and came up with this cute advertising postcard Subaru came up with apparently during the early 1970s:

Actually, back in the day I do recall seeing a few right hand drive Subaru wagons with signs on them "US Mail", but I suspect they were locally owned or leased vehicles and not officially part of the USPS fleet.

Interesting item as during that period it would have been noted by many USPS personnel during the receive, sort, delivery process. Therefore, was the message as much for the USPS as the recipient? Who is the addressee on the other side? Just curious. To me, it seems a sort of postal lobbying effort for business made by Subaru. Was this a common (strategic) activity by other companies in this time period? Seems very interesting.

Sorry I can't answer some of your question about the postcard. I found it on an Ebay auction where only the ad side of the card is shown. There are several offered for sale, and I believe the listing suggests they are unused, so probably nothing is on the reverse side. It's rather curious that the seller is also out of Canada, even though the ad refers to the US Mail:

In any event, it does seem like a clever ad (for its day).
