For me, ALL the posts in this thread run out into the right margin somewhere. I am so accustomed to scrolling back and forth that I hardly give it a thought.
If I hit "Control + minus" twice, the letters are about the size of ants. |

Another thing to try. Along top left, do you have your menu bar shown? Looks like " file edit view favorites ..."
click on view, click text size, click on large or largest" |

I want to thank all for posting the various the methods to increase/decrease the overall screen magnification and font sizes.
The problem being addressed is that there has been a sudden unknown change that has affected several users. I don't think any of us purposely made a simultaneous change that caused this, considering we are not all using the exact same operating system or the same browser.
While we await a comment on any possible recent changes from admin, my next best guess is that there may have been something in the recent Windows updates that did something? I believe I did do a Windows update in the past 7 days.
Until then, we can either decrease our screen magnification until the horizontal scroll bar disappear, or get used to using them.
All I know is, at this point, there seems to be a lot of empty real estate on the right side of the threads. |

You can also play with the sizes by holding ctrl and rolling your mouse wheel back and forth |

Quote: The problem being addressed is that there has been a sudden unknown change that has affected several users. I agree with khj and it seems to me that problem and the solution lies with the site admin. The normal text setting on SCF was already quite small to begin with as compared to some other sites. Trying to fit in the whole page by zooming in or control minus etc makes it virtually impossible to read anything. And scrolling back and forth is giving me a headache. |

Sorry guys and gals, I did that accidentally when I fixed the slow loading issue with the member auctions at the top. For those of you that are website savvy... I changed them to load in an iframe so that when the eBay servers were slow it wouldn't hold up the page. When I did that though I set the iframe way too wide. Since I run a 1500 pixel wide browser window, I didn't notice it. |

Thanks Forum Dad
Actually the text appears to be larger than it was previously and is a lot easier to read.
Your efforts are much appreciated and proves again what a great site this is. |

Hi Bobby
Thanks !
Don: I believe I have you beat by a year or two. I started with an IBM 1620 in school and have programmed a 407 accounting machine that used patch panels.
As an MSEE I have designed and repaired various pieces of aerospace hardware. To this day I will not open my computer case. If something goes bump it is off to the guru shop. Once a year it goes in for its annual dusting.
A friend gave me a book on how to build a computer. He says if I am an EE it should be no sweat. I read the book twice and still do not have a clue about some items they talk about. My favorite guru shop builds them for $400 - $500 with a 3 year warranty on parts and labor. Besides I do not get all the fluff that I do not need.

I too use firefox but most times a page reload will fix the problem. Just an internal server error or upgrade in progress usually. |

For what it is worth, I have always had this problem with this site. I just thought that was the way it was built and have always had to scroll to the right to see these postings. I had no idea there was any possible way to fix it, so I never asked. If anyone does know a definite fix, please let us know. |
