Just recently I have begun to experience real problems with this forum. I cannot get the photo upload box to open. It drops back to the new topic box. I have a new topic I can't enter without the photo I wanted to query. Also I cannot get the contact us box on the menu to open, so I have had to resort to this to get a message to you.
I have had this sort of problem with websites before. So please don't just say it's my fault(!) , like the last time I said this to a website operator, and you'll probably say I need to switch my antivirus off, as they did. Well, it used to work, so what's different now? I would rather not be surfing anywhere on the net with my self totally open to viruses.
Now it won't even preview this message. Will I even be able to post it?

Morning Telcson Yes, your message has posted! I have had intermittent problems with the photo uploader in the last few months, some days it works, others not. Same problem you describe. It can be frustrating when you have a valid contribution to an active thread, you don't always have the time to keep trying! I certainly wouldn't disable any anti-virus to try to fix it. Hopefully the experts can trouble shoot the problem for you. Regards DavidR |

Is it your browser blocking some "pop-up boxes"... just a thought anyway. |

Both problems you have involve popups, something is blocking them. It is something on your end or I would have hundreds of complaints. |

Thanks all,
It could be the pop-up blocker with my Kaspersky, I suppose. It's odd though that this has only started to happen recently, and I always have had the pop-up blocker on with all Kasperskys I've installed, since I changed to them.( a few years ago now) This installation since last xmas. What I'll try is to switch it off just while I'm trying to upload the photo for my topic, and see if that makes a difference. Telcson |

.........actually the pop-up blocker on the internet explorer. is i.e's own one, and turning that off makes no difference whatsoever. so I'm taking a look at Kaspersky. The problem persists. I'm having a look at Kaspersky. That doesn't seem to have a pop-up tool, just an anti-banner setting.
So no joy, I'm afraid. Incidentally, whatever it is won't let me even preview this message. telcson. |

Perhaps you have a Google, Yahoo or similar toolbar... these may also have a pop-up blocker.
Virus programs, browsers, search engine toolbars, dedicated pop-up blocker programs etc may have a pop-up blocker so perhaps disabling one means the others are still at work. Disable all then use one you can trust and use "exceptions" which may help.
Incidently... I one had a situation where pop-up windows/boxes were BEHIND the main window so could not be seen. I re-installed my browser to fix that. Just one more thought on the problem.

I keep trying to stop every new program I download from throwing toolbars at me! even Adobe is a good source for that, too. But they come out of the ether. I have tried to remove unwanted ones, and haven't downloaded Chrome, google toolbars, and so on. I try to disable whatever in add-ons, too, which I can't remove somehow.
So, still not found what's the culprit. |

Yes. Well, I get notification and then I download. To be exact. I prefer to have manual control of what I download, so I can hopefully track things which prevent something else from working.
