How much time do you spend per week stamping? Include all activities related to stamp collecting, including:
    working on your collection,
    bidding in auctions,
    reading stamp periodicals,
    participating in online forums,
    shopping for supplies,
    going to stamp club meetings
    and daydreaming about stamps...

A post after voting!

Nice poll t360 !
I would love to know how many hours each week we actually spend with our stamps......not including other related aspects.
Most of my time is spent on the computer with groups, emails, browsing for info or looking at auctions......and NOT enough with my stamps which are piling up.
It's like a habit that I cannot get out of .......

Let's see there is 168 hours in a 7 day week, subtract 63 for sleeping=105 hours remaining, subtract 45 for work=60 divide by 2 for good measure=30.

Of course I'm figuring this out while I'm at work. LOL

Most of my stamp time in order of actual hours: online forums, daydreaming, reading, working on collection, and club meeting. I generally do not bid on auctions and buy supplies often.

BTW I love that set of stamps, the booklet cover had a free admission ticket to Chicagopex.

I shot from the hip and said 10 to 20 but then when you factor in the schmoozing on the forums and browsing the internet I fall safely in the 20 to 30 hour range..i spend a lot of time trying to organize thousands of stamps that do not fit in to my collecting interests either too new or duplicates...and putting them in 102 cards and glassines hopefully to swap or sell to enhance my own collections..while doing this I time to time find a worldwide stamp that fits in my Scott Internationals..its fairly harmless and inexpensive therapy....

I spend about as much time as I want to.

Phil made a good point:

Was just reading an article in the December 29 Linn's Stamp News about
the centenary of the reign of King George V, the philatelist king (the
older guy, QEII's grandfather). Linn's states that "When in London, he
reportedly spent three afternoons each week on his stamp collection"
and "was rarely interrupted."

Just goes to show that even though a king had a lot of time to spend
with his stamps, he didn't have all the time in the world and did have
other duties to tend. It also shows that his time with his stamps was
respected. No "Bloody Honey do list," eh, DJD!?

Ain't enough hours in the day. Cut my sleeping time from 8 to 6 hours so I'd have more time to work on stamps.

It varies dependin on the size of the piles of paperwork on my desk from from week to week, but I chose 10 - 20. (This week has been bad.)

If you add in hanging out on the SCF and daydreaming, it could approach 30!

OK, you guys and gals that picked over 40 hours a week - unless you're in the business take a deep breath . . . . look around you . . . . that's your wife/husband/significant other. Go out to dinner!

Boy the 3 people at the bottom of the pole must get not sleep.

I see I'm in the average range. Some weeks I spend more time but working full time does interfere somewhat. I'm lucky that my hubby has his own hobbies so we each go about our own business in the evenings.

I would spend more time if I could. Like right now I should be going to the gym but would love to stay home and sort through British stamps.

I'ts really cold outside so I'm leaning towards staying in. I could do a workout here and do both. Yeh I just talked myself into it.

I agree with Londonbus! I spend more time here and looking on the Internet plus reading(oops,I didn't count reading stamp books and magazines!) than I do with my stamps--I keep planning bigger and better RED CROSS, SPACE, and SCOUTING topical albums intertwined with scrap booking pages-but , have yet to start it!

I am so glad to be retired and to be a part of this hobby. I have such broad interests that I cannot be bored even spending 20 - 30 hours/week at it. I can't think of much else that would provide the rewards to the psyche that this does. Hail Hail Rowland Hill....
