...and Tigger too!

That would make a good topical collection. It's such a well-loved book/story, there must be some stamps out there somewhere.

I don't think I have any duplicate stamps, but in case you needed a list (completeness is not claimed -- these are just the ones I know of)...

Showing OWL:
Anguilla
Antigua and Barbuda
Micronesia
St. Vincent (2)
Tanzania

The number in parenthesis is the number of different stamps that show Owl. If you need the Scott catalog numbers, email me and I'll look them up. I think there is one more showing them all in a tree, but off-hand I don't know what country issued that one.

For those who are interested in Winnie the Pooh (not necessarily Owl), here is a list of ADDITIONAL countries that I know of that issued them (again, completeness is not claimed)...

Anguilla
Redonda (Antigua and Barbuda)
Canada
China (ROC)
Ghana
Great Britain
Grenada Grenadines (2 sets)
Guyana
Maldives
Sierra Leone
Turks and Caicos Islands

Also, Lesotho issued several sets of Disney stamps. May be worth checking out Lesotho (especially the Mark Twain set, which I do not own).

Hope that helps!

Here is an interesting item that will be in the package.....

In 1979 a set of Stamps from Great Britain was issued to celebrate the International Year of the Child. It was a 4 stamp set and no M/S was printed. The set depicted Winnie the Pooh,Alice in Wonderland,Tales of Peter Rabbit and The Wind in the Willows.

In 1980, as part of the the Europa 1980 celebrations, a Year of the Child Exhibition was held and the organizers had printed the above sheet for sale at the exhibition. The exhibition was sponsored by War on Want and Lufhansa and their Logos appear on the left side, The Europa and Year of the Child logos appear on the other.

At the bottom is printed 'Issued by authority of the British Post Office', but this was not the case and they were embarrassed by it's issue, no doubt because the stamps could be used on mail [and were], being excellent reprints.Of course, the black [cancel] line showed the non-postal validity.
Anyway, the print run was not large and these items became much sought after, the Imperf sheets being quite rare and expensive.
Oddly though, a number of soaked and damaged sheets have been found over the years and one wonders if there was some attempt at destroying stocks at some stage.
The sheet scanned and going to Tina is one of those soaked sheets with some damage, but another soaking and a press should see it looking a little better.
If nothing else, an interesting item with an equally interesting story, regardless of condition....and for Pooh collectors, a bonus !

Tina, enjoy.

Cool stuff. I also have always been a fan of the 'Pooh' sagas, escpecially the cartoon versions and I had no idea there were so many Pooh issues.

The real Winnie was a bear cub mascot of a regiment of the Royal Canadian Veteranary Corps of the Canadian Expeditionery Force of WWI. He was named Winnie for the City the regiment came from.... Winnipeg.

He was given to the London Zoo, after the War, where Mr. Milne saw him and wrote stories about him for a small boy.

We have a statue of Winnie the Pooh at our local zoo with Harry Colebourn, one of the Vetrenarians who adopted him.

And here's the whole story in much detail:
