I was able to find and pick up this shoulder curl from eBay the other day. Bidding was almost nonexistent. It may have gone unnoticed due the curl being partially obscured by the cancellation or maybe these are not as sought after as I thought. One way or the other I have to decide which curl it is. I'm guessing 99R7. What do the experts say?

Guarantee that if I would've noticed it, there would've been some more bidding!

Nice find...jealous here, big time...Ray

It's either 58R7, 59R7 or 99R7 (closed loop at top). There are other plating marks shown in the Doporto image archive than can help distinguish these positions. I think I see the vertical scratches through the right end of the white border of the lower label that identify 99R7. Rest assured that the Plate 7 Shoulder Curls are indeed sought after.

Dudley: The imprint of the stamp is fairly faint and locating telltale scratches is very difficult, even with the USB scope. I added a shot taken of the location you suggested and have to be somewhat generous to call these 'scratches' but this along with a faint scratch in the upper left of the stamp Doporto points out make me 95% sure it is a 99R7. Thanks for the help. It was a fun find and what makes this hobby a bit of a treasure hunt too!

Curl collectors, this shoulder curl is available on eBay. Not clears but looks like a 58R7 curl.

Unfortunately it looks as if it's held together by band-aids.
