Must exist somewhere, created by butchering a strip of three and leaving these two poor carcasses behind. I hate this.

Yes - I wonder when "no" became "small"?

I think it is worth noting that the seller is a PSE employee. I am not sure in what capacity.

The thing to do is buy them, then submit them to PSE for graded certs.

The resulting certs:

PSE graded 10TY ("Thank you for your sacrifice")

I just discovered the destruction of a rare multiple that has me furious. I can't give the details right now because I am debating on whether to try to buy any of the pieces. Or whether I should...

Happy New Year,

In deference to this thread, I would like to show a scan of what I believe is 9R1L that I just plated about 2 weeks ago from my collection. Stamp is unused with gum and hinge on back (original gum.. who knows?)

I initially thought this stamp was recut at top and was just a run of the mill scott #9. Its amazing how poor I am at determining recuts of this one cent Franklin issue. I was certain the top was recut.

But then this thread came up and I noticed my plating matched to the title "9R1L". In fact, it is recut once at bottom only. NOT TOP! Amazing how wrong I was!

Of course, a little research later, and I realized this was the same position on plate 1 that produced type 1b (Scott 5a) stamps from early plate. Similar to txstamo picture/thread on 7R1L.

Confirmation would be helpful.

Sinclair,

hopefully you can fill us in on more info on the "destruction of a rare multiple"

"SMALL MARGINS" --- Another interesting use of the English Language. Something more like "Negative margin growth should be expected after purchase" maybe...

rg - nice stamp. 9R1L is correct. Those top row right pane 1L stamps are always great to get good copies of.
