He sold this 314a for $600 back in November. It has a different cancel.
Once you click on the link you need to scroll down.

I always see him offering # 499's as # 500's. I have sent him several notes, all unanswered. I agree with Peter, he is on my "do not buy from" list.

A rather poor job of cutting out the Schermack perforations. Better fakes exist made using a perforating machine set up to punch Schermack perforations similar to ones used to punch fake Bureau perforations. The problem with the one below is that it is the wrong shade.

The seller is an expert in US stamps - which makes his ebay conduct that much more reprehensible.

Really? I have never heard that. I bought a wonderfully mis-identified cover from them this past summer.

Anthony's has been a big time stamps player in NY for 30 years. They have no excuse.

The seller clearly knows what he is doing:

1. it is advertised as "as is".

2. If he thought it was real, he get a cert and send it to Robert A. Siegel Auction Galleries.

If he had integrity, he'd sell it as a fake space-filler.

Those Schermack emulations aren't even well cut.

I seldom ask, but in this case I will: Who run's "Anthony's?"

Here is just a few of their listings on Scott "#315"

Not sure what kind of justifications the seller might use but without question there is some kind of problem.

They might actually be worse than NY Stamps. I avoid both of them like the plague. I do have to wonder why someone with a 30yr reputation would risk it selling obvious fakes. Maybe his age is a factor, or lesser experienced family member taking over????

It sold for $363.55

His description says "Sold "As Is" With No Guarantee A Filler"

I suspect someone else is running the operation now. No real expert would make this error in the SCV of a block of 12 of the 505 error. The description notes that it is VLH, which reduces the SCV from the listed $2000 to only $1300. I have notified the seller of same.
