Just going through these 2c Columbian stamps and notice a distinct DARK brown color difference of one, extremely similar to the 5c Columbian color. It was hinged off to the side of a regular color 2c in a White Ace book.
Can't find anything similar to this online does anyone have more info.? Just an aged stamp?
I know the The 4c Columbian has a color error which was caused by the use of a wrong batch of ink, and spectrographic analysis has shown that the blue inks of the 4c error and 1c Columbian have the same components.
Is it possible the wrong batch of ink was also used with the 5c Columbian and 2c Columbian causing this color difference?
