Scott lists no Dot in "S of CENTS" variety for #265 but this one appears to have such dot. It's Type I and has wmk. #191 horizontally oriented. It appears to my eye more pink than carmine but that's objective (picture of it and two other color varieties overlaid on it for comparison). I', a bit confused...
Sorry...additionally...look at the line of color in the hair on the forehead. On all my other varieties it is either very faint or merely a series of dots. Is this just an inking issue?
Thanks rlsny! I enjoyed the stamp photo. Mine, when not so enlarged as in this post, appears much the same color too - kind of an intense pink. Yes, I am certain about the watermark and its orientation. The letter 'S' of USPS is squarely in the middle of the stamp.
Curious why Scotts lists the 'dot in the S' variety for #267 but not #250 which you mentioned nor #265 which you found an example of?
