Good morning everyone. I have been lurking the forums for a couple of months now and decided it is finally time to join.
I live in Texas right by the Louisiana/Texas boarder on the gulf. The story behind my id is that I am originally from Northern California and due to my enlisting in the Air Force and marrying a Texas girl even though I feel at home in Texas I still get some looks and feel a little displaced every once in a while.
I have never been a stamp collector until about 6 months ago when on a whim I bought some airmails on eBay and really started to enjoy it, maybe too much. Recently I have been lurking the BOB pages specifically the revenues which I have taken a great liking to even more so the handstamped items.
I know I have tons to learn and see, I have been buying almost anything I can cheaply get my hands on, but now find myself buying a higher quality stamp/cancel.
I look forward to all of the fun and learning and hopefully will be able to share somethings myself eventually.

-Willie

Hello displaced. Welcome to the forum. I too am a newby having done the same as you ... lurking for a while and finally joining. I think you've probably noticed that there are as many themes to one's stamp collecting as there are stamps so whatever suits you goes. Enjoy!

Thank you for your service!
