Scott #721. I understand that uneven margins are undesirable because of centering. However, the large margin on top gave the cancel room to fit the word "MAIL" and allowed Washington's eye to align inside the "O" in "FOR".

That's a one-in-a-million cancel, Jonathan! Washington's eyes are looking through the letters almost like he's wearing spectacles.

@Classic Coins Thanks for the comment. Nice cancel! I like that the full marketing text made it on the stamp. As an aside, I have some postmaster/postal-inspector Pony Express 80th anniversary covers I'll post soon.
