Hello everyone....

This latest war began on March 19, 2003.......Mail from downtown Baghdad, April 16, 2003.....just 28 days into the war ! Anyone have anything dated earlier ? Improvised post card made from a manila folder.

(Col. Charles **** was in charge of setting up a perimeter that later became the green zone. Leon **** is my postman, the Col. is his son-in-law....the family lives just a few miles from me. Leon is the one who gave this to me.)

Thank you for sharing that. I wish I received some mail from my soldiers in the war. I heard it was too difficult for them to write us, physically and emotionally.

The wars of these days have a different type of communication. Phone or video phone. Which is in one sense is better but can not be captured, held and cherished for memories like a letter.
