This morning I was browsing stamps on e-Bay and encountered a pair of very high priced stamps that look to me to be ordinary booklet stamps from 1926 - Scott nos. 632 & 634 - pictured below. The 1¢ Franklin was priced at $4999.99 and the 2¢ Washington at $2000.00. Each, from different sellers, didn't list a catalog number but used the words "green line" and "red line" in the description.

Does that green and red line on the stamps actually make them worth $2k & $5k, or are the sellers just greedy fools?

No, just clueless sellers. Natural straight edges are usually seen as a detraction rather than an enhancement. The two stamps you picture are worth pennies.

The lines are from the sheets and are normal, not rare, not unusual, not worth more in any way.

That's what I thought, but since it was two different sellers I wondered if I was wrong. Thanks for the replies.

So I even have two lines there on my stamp... - mine should be 10.000 USD. :-)

I see a lot of eBay stamp sellers not having a clue as to what stamps are worth. Some rightfully claim they nothing of stamps but insist on listing very low catalog value stamps for tons of money. I doubt any real collector would buy them. But like I've seen, they can sell them at a price they want. If that's what they want to do we can't say much. Closing a deal just won't happen is all.
